The dryad did not hear the “whoo, whoo” of the massive hook as it swung through the air.

The dryad did not smell the odour of the decaying flesh as it lingered in the air, like a stain that refused to go away.

The dryad did not see the gaping maw, salivating at the though of the smooth, succulent flesh that awaited it.

With a “whoosh” the meat hook flew through the air, and embedded itself into the body of Aiushtha. Spurts of arterial blood spray out of the wound, and the Enchantress screamed out in pain. Blue balls of light, known to the humans as Wisps came out from the ground and the trees to tend to the fatally injured dryad, but it was all in vain. As the dryad was slowly dragged to the huge, trap-like jaws of the Butcher, she blacked out, this being a fortunate event for she did not have to endure the pain of being eaten alive.

His job done, the Butcher retreated, to wait for other fresh meat…

ZZzzzz. CCH lost to Montford AGAIN. KNN. I admit I did have a mistake of choosing QOP when Jason gave me a choice from 3 heroes to ban. QOP was JY’s best. However, due to the chaotic situation, the only hero I knew they banned was NA, so I was thinking they could be going AOE.

However, our line-up was still good enough. But once again, we relied on an unreliable person who does not play with the team very often(last year: kai jin, this year: cheng zhi).

“Speaking of the devil… >_< I was at the library surfing the net, and then I saw the phrase “Sheena Island” on wikipedia. So I was like ‘lol’ and went to eat chicken rice at canteen with Shawn.

As Shawn and I were going home, Shawn saw Sheena. She was with Gina Wong(aka Yellow Penguin) and Yu Rong. I was like “WHERE’S WEIBIN? WHY HE NOT WITH YOU? AHAHAHHA etcetc”. I lol-ed in real life and went home-

At least, that’s what I want to say, because there was an UNEXPECTED PLOT TWIST, OH SH-*dies*

Yup, unexpected plot twist, I didn’t go home happily. Sheena suddenly said “Where’s woani?” I was pretty sure she violated at least a few laws of the Universe in that one second. Since when was I, Jake, ever a target for such things? NEVER. That one moment probably ripped the Space-Time Continuum to shreds, and caused stars to explode and other rare phenomena.

Thinking back, I could’ve countered, but it probably wouldn’t matter anyway. I shouted “Fury hor!” but, alas, it was futile; I was a wounded gazelle on the Serengeti, and the hyenas locked on to me. Three girls vs. one poor guy, I stood no chance. (Shawn is a useless fuck.)

“woani, woani. Hey woani is behind etcetcetc” I ignored all of them, and finally made it to my sanctuary, the bus stop. Bus 31 came, and we boarded the bus. Who else would have also boarded the bus but that girl whose name was being repeated like, 10 mins ago. She was behind me after all.

Fury, hor.”

The humour is top notch, the descriptions are vivid, and the ending makes very good use of irony.

The adding of “fury, hor” to the ending is abit redundant, but it works to a certain degree as it was something that woani would use. The metaphors get the point across beautifully. “I was a wounded gazelle on the Serengeti”and of course UNEXPECTED PLOT TWIST is a wonderful dramatic device .

Perhaps I should do this for other people’s blogs too.

Life without playing DOTA on weekdays has been pretty good. Today I’m passing the 3day hump. The first 3 days of not satiating your addiction is the hardest. But after that it’s a breeze.

However, I think I have a new preoccupation with *ahem*. I can’t do much when I’m thinking of *ahem*. But like all fads, it will pass soon enough, I think.

Hah.

Sucking for Maths and Science. What happened to my genius? Guess it got shut out and kicked out by the other parts of my brain for being a smartass.

I wish I had more time in a day.

Playing the piano is great replacement for DOTA. But I still don’t have any motivation to play well or pass my exams. >.>

LEARN PHYSICS THE FUN WAY WITH DOTA(Scourced from internet)

This is the very basic of physics. If the Spirit Breaker’s acceleration is a, then his velocity after time t is V=Vo + at, where Vo is the initial velocity. The distance after time t equals to x=Vot + ½at². But in the game, Spirit Breaker’s velocity becomes constant after a few seconds accelerating to the enemy.

Luna’s bouncing glaives
Luna’s attack reduces to 40% for every time her shuriken bounce. Here, we can say that 4/10 X ½mVo²=½mvV² where Vo is the initial velocity and V is the velocity after the shuriken collides. The shuriken’s mass doesn’t change so we can simplify the equation to V= Vo(4/10)^½.

Butcher hooking Leoric
Let the Leoric’s mass is m and the distance between Pudge and Leoric is x.The energy needed to extend the hook to x distance is given by E=½kx² where k is the force constant of the hook. The work done to pull Leoric is xma. From the conservation energy theory, we will get xma=½kx².By simplifies this we can express the Leoric acceleration toward Pudge by a==½kx/m.

Gah. Todays DOTA inter school was a complete disaster, imo.

This was the match-up:

CCHS(M):
QOP-Jian Yang
LOA-Jason Wong
Gorgon-Kai Jin
SK-Kong Jian
VS-Jing Xiang(correct spelling?)

Now, judging by match up alone, early game Montford has the advantage, and good early game=good late game; but if CCHS managed to hold out, they could pull out a counter with LOA supporting SK and QOP. But they didn’t. In fact they got owned. Let’s go to the laning match up:

TOP:
LOA, QOP vs. RK,Veno, THD

Employing an aggro 3 lane match ups, this allows 2 heros to solo and 3 heros to dominate the lane. However the plan is not without it’s flaws and leave the soloers open to gangs. The 3-hero lane is also vulnerable seeing as how there’s vs and sk. Jason and JY held their own quite okay seeing as their lane was horrible. The next two lanes were the weak links

MID:
Gorgon vs. Warlock

Bad, Bad Matchup. Chain+stats build for gorgon has no chance against Warlock, and an early 3 man gank left Warlock with the upper hand, and Warlock maintaining it with a combo of heal and harass. Better choice would be Silencer or Zeus or stealing THD from the other team

BOT:
SK,VS vs. Viper.

This would have been an easy matchup for a skilled viper. Seriously, with 2-3 bracers and Persv and tangos, SK can survive harass and whack harder, since the viper went for a DR aegis rush. The VS should have traveled to mid and bot ganking and harassing. However it appeared that the SK was insufficient and not skilled enough.

Overall
Poor showing by Gorgon. Gorgon wasn’t good at helping the team overall, going for a radiance rush. Wraith bands, Euls, BKB would have been much better. Bracers,Maelstrom also work.
SK was also a poor showing. SK could’ve won Viper, even with corrosive skin. However, Jason made Kong Jian used SK, while he had been trying his intel and was therefore not smooth with his blinking.
LOA could been better. For a main battler support he could’ve gone Midas, BKB, Radiance.
None of the team was farmed enough for a Boots of Travel and BKB. The other team also bought daggers to escape the already unpolished SK.
VS very ke lian(pitiful), often making suicide swaps even without manta or bkb. The team could only grab 2 or 3 kills and had their team wiped out.

CCH was outfarmed and outlaned by some not too good players armed with sheer lane control and more powerful heroes. CCHS lacked disables. What could have become their moment of glory was their show of lack of co-ordination and weakness. The team switched heroes at the last minute, and had not played together enough. It showed in their matches and in the interschool match itself.

Jake’s DOTA mechanics of the day.

Dummy units:Useless units used to cast spells. A good example is SA’s smokescreen, where you can see the dummy unit by holding the Alt key when there’s a smokescreen. Others would be Broodmother’s web, Slayer’s Light Strike Array.

Epicentre:
After 2 seconds of channeling, a dummy unit casts repeated thunderclaps on the area where SK is. The dummy unit continues casting even after SK is dead, cycloned or hexed. So be sure to run away when you see that SK with a blink dagger approaching you!

Triggers:Events, used to simulate spell effects. The triggers can be non-magic based. Usually does exact damage. (eg. omnislash, brain sap, laser)

Chronosphere:
Pauses all units in the AOE every 0.X seconds for the amount of seconds the sphere lasts. Trigger based spells (eg. aphotic shield, omnislash) will still take effect in the AOE. Wards will still attack in Chronosphere.
