Do you know that 0.9999999 repeating equals to 1?
First, a logical proof.
Think of it this way, adding more 9s to the decimals make the difference between 0.999… and 1 smaller. Adding them ad infinitum makes the difference between 1 and 0.999…. zero. If 1 minus 0.9999…. equals to 0, then 1 equals to 0.999….
Fractional proof:
1/3=0.333…
3/3=0.999….
1=3/3=0.999…
Algebraic proof:
x=0.999…
10x=9.9999….
10x-x=9
9x=9
x=1

Algebra and Algorithm got their names because Latin speakers thought that the author’s name was the title of the treatise. Hence, we now learn *ahem* the names of 2 Middle Eastern men.
I’m cold. =x
