Laughter

Went to NYJC’s talenttime last night, many a joke were had and shared. It was like a return to old times.

Saw a well-developed specimen of the female human, giving me an inexplicable high.

It was a night of nights and I couldn’t possibly describe it well enough in words.

Graduate Mothers’ Scheme

What is the similarity between the Nazi regime and the graduate mothers’ scheme? The answer is Eugenics. Eugenics is intervention in human evolution in order to improve on the human species. You can either practise it in a positive way or negative way. Positive would be to encourage those who are ‘fitter’ to breed while discouraging those who aren’t to not breed or to inter-breed with those who are. Negatively, it would entail the sterilization or more extremely the gradual elimination of an entire race.

The most notorious example would be Hitler’s concentration camps where ‘undesirables’ were put away. On a lesser scale would be the various sterilisation programmes enforced throughout the United States when eugenics was still endorsed as a way to improve the human race and lessen suffering.

Of course, the Graduate Mothers; Scheme would be an example of positive eugenics, where people who are considered more intelligent are encouraged to reproduce in order to increase the amount of such people in the population. “2 or more if you can afford it” targets those of a better socio-economic background and expensive dating agencies preclude those who can’t afford it. As anyone with an inkling of sense and social awareness can tell, intelligence is directly correlated with wealth/social background so these campaigns can be seen as an attempt by a certain person/people to specifically target those who are better or more ‘elite’.

Thankfully, eugenics has long been discredited and abandoned, although largely more due to the atrocities commited by the Nazis then genuine care for the human race’s gene pool. Remants of eugenics still remain, with genetic screening for people with heritable diseases; this is necessary to avoid the pain to both parent and child when a child is afflicted with such an illness.

I have a theory why they call it “falling in love”. It’s because when you see the object of your affections, your legs feel so weak you feel as though you may fall at any moment.

Finally, finally I scored goals during PE, and 3 at that. However, I still can’t beat weibin’s 5. Must accumulate good karma!

Hmm…Yaowen was surprisingly good, perhaps my expectations were low. Would love to have the same team next time

Tsang Sheng’s and Comrade’s comments have invigorated my blog.

Not much to update in the life of Jake. But then again, this isn’t my diary, this is where I shoot my mouth off.

I’ve realized, sometimes I expect victory to come naturally and losing not to be tolerated. But that isn’t how life goes, is it?

However, without this competitive spirit, I cannot be motivated to study, or otherwise sit down and do something. This is partly the reason why I only study at the 11th hour, the lack of urgency I have when I see that there’s time left on the calender.

On the whole ferlin issue, I feel conflicted. Since I don’t even know her well, so who cares? But then, she is a member of our class.

Regarding birthdays, I have come to the conclusion, I shall stick to my being myself and not buy people stuff. I don’t hold such days in high regard anyways. When it comes to special days, I’m strictly communist.

I have grown to like bitter stuff: Dark chocolate, Coffee, Bittergourd, Ginseng. I wonder why? Perhaps a reflection of my bitter life?

Really, really am not the gifting type of person. How? Dilemma.

My DOTA is really inconsistent; like much of what I do. Sometimes its really good, other times mediocre or even lousy.

No mood to study.
Pokemon is so addictive. It’s like Rock-Paper-Scissors with Chess. If you lose, you review your strategy, go through what you did wrong, then fight again. If you win, you fight again. Either way, you can’t stop at all. Mind games after mind games. I would like to do that in real life. Mind games are the best type of games to play with people.

Seeing a certain somebody(let’s call him XXX) prepare so hard for the birthday of the girl XXX likes warms my heart. I think he’s more sincere than another person, who just wants more shifus. He writes as if he’s a lovelorn warrior, when he’s just playing a game.

I support you 100% XXX! You, the reader, may already know who I’m talking about.

Makes me wanna do something nice for a person’s birthday too. But I don’t think I am good at gifting. In fact, I’ve never gave anything to anybody(besides my parents) before. I’ve just contributed money and/or words of congratulations.

Sets me thinking…hm…

When a man is naked-and doing what could be regarded as the pinnacle of adulthood, he reverts back to a mere child, wanting his mother’s, a woman’s, comfort.

When a man and a woman who do not know each other physically come together, they are both teacher and student, parent and child.

As different as the moon and the sun, yet intricately linked together.

On a totally unrelated note, screw chem.

On another unrelated note, here’s something i wrote

The dryad did not hear the “whoo, whoo” of the massive hook as it swung through the air.

The dryad did not smell the odour of the decaying flesh as it lingered in the air, like a stain that refused to go away.

The dryad did not see the gaping maw, salivating at the though of the smooth, succulent flesh that awaited it.

With a “whoosh” the meat hook flew through the air, and embedded itself into the body of Aiushtha. Spurts of arterial blood spray out of the wound, and the Enchantress screamed out in pain. Blue balls of light, known to the humans as Wisps came out from the ground and the trees to tend to the fatally injured dryad, but it was all in vain. As the dryad was slowly dragged to the huge, trap-like jaws of the Butcher, she blacked out, this being a fortunate event for she did not have to endure the pain of being eaten alive.

His job done, the Butcher retreated, to wait for other fresh meat…

This is a video of 3 drunk british men mocking a trishaw rider and supposedly not paying for the ride.

Now, this has caused alot of fury among Singaporeans, and I can understand it. However, what is with the numerous death threats and such? It has been featured on the news even!

If you were drunk and loaded and wanted to get home and saw a trishaw, you would have gotten in, right? Furthermore, our 3 drunk bastards are tourists and of course, unacquainted in Singapore culture, so they would naturally think “hey, here’s a ‘cab’”.As seen by the video, they just went a short distance(not even 200m) and the old man was charging 10$. Would you pay 10$ for a supposed cab fare?

Yes, they were assholes for pretending not to have money, mocking that old man, posting up that video, and saying ‘it’s not a big deal’. But remember their circumstances.

These people’s reactions just show how Singaporeans are equally ugly too.

Today, I shall write about some CCAs. As I’m not in any of those CCAs, forgive me for any inaccurate portrayals.

One of the largest CCAs around is CO; however, it’s one of the most useless CCAs of all. I mean, what use do you have for learning ErHu or whatever? Be a fucking busker? However, I think, there is one great benefit from CO that comes from its apparent popularity, which is vastly increasing your social network. CO people come from all classes (both in the school sense and the social sense) which means you probably can get information, friends and more. A slight drawback is the segregation into groups of the various instruments.

NCC is actually quite a good CCA. One of my friends, who seems to enjoy doing calculus and chemistry, has NCC as a CCA. I think it’s the only physical activity he does in between on the comp and homework. It’s also quite beneficial for people who want to keep fit but do not enjoy sports or have time for it. The courses and trips are also good experiences for life.

The lack of a street soccer/football CCA disturbs me. Football is like, the truly global sport. Chinese played a version of it, the Aztecs played a version of it (it’s like playing basketball with your legs, iirc) Heard that there was such a CCA, but due to some reason or another it was disbanded. How disappointing.

I should know more about Netball, considering I came from a class with a good number of netball players. Unfortunately the only thing I knew about netball was that it had a lot of girls in them. Of course, sec3 changed that. I have to applaud netball players. It’s a very physical sport. Imagine if it allowed contact! It would be like a female-only version of football (in terms of physical demand and roughness). There would riots by displeased fans! Ahahaha
PROTIP: girls should wear short skirts while playing the sport. It dilates blood vessels of all males in a 350AOE by 20%, while increasing pulse rate by 15%, leading to massive blood loss through nasal passages.
